September 30 is Orange Shirt Day & the National for Truth and Reconciliation Day

It is a time for learning and reflecting on Canada’s involvement in the former Indian residential school system and the intergenerational impact it has caused on Indigenous communities, families, and individuals. It is a time for recognition, remembrance, and to honour the survivors.

Find more information and learning opportunities and resources on the Durham College page, including the Library’s research guide. There are events this week to learn about this important day.

And be sure to check out the self-paced learning plan that is entirely open-source.
