Recognizing Orange Shirt Day & the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30 Posted on September 20, 2024 at 10:26 am. Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to reflect and learn about the past and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous peoples and communities. It is a time for recognition, remembrance, and to honour survivors of the former Indian residential school system and the intergenerational impact it has caused on Indigenous communities, families, and individuals. Engage with a selection of self-directed learning resources as we lead up to September 30 and beyond. Events leading up to September 30 are hosted by the First Peoples Indigenous Centre (FPIC).
