In recognition of Science Literacy Week in Canada (September 16 to 22), the Campus Library will host a number of on-campus events and activities from Monday, September 16 through Thursday, September 19. Monday, September 16 Blood Typing Clinic I Learn about your blood type and see how you match up to others. Snacks and light refreshments will be available. When: 2 to 3 p.m. Where: Oshawa Campus Library, Lobby Tuesday, September 17 Film screening and freshwater research presentation Join us for an afternoon screening of the 2008 documentary Blue Gold: World Water Wars. Ontario Tech University researcher Andrea Kirkwood, PhD, will also present a talk entitled Adventures in Freshwater Research: Connecting what we do on land to aquatic ecosystem health. When: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Where: Oshawa Campus Library, Fireside Reading Room Wednesday, September 18 Blood Typing Clinic II Learn about your blood type and see how you match up to others. Snacks and light refreshments will be available. When: 2 to 3 p.m. Where: Whitby Campus, Cafeteria Thursday, September 19 SIGMA Laboratory tours (Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre, Room 2054) Please register online for the 1:15 p.m. or 2:45 p.m. tour.
