Treaties Recognition Week

Treaties Recognition Week is November 2 to 8, 2025, a time for learning about the history and ongoing importance of treaties, respecting these treaty rights and their relevance today.

The College is situated on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, and the Williams Treaties was signed in November 1923 by the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, and Seven First Nations.

Learn more about treaties, ongoing land claims, and check out the Maamwi Treaties of Ontario database on the Learning Portal.

Join the College and the First Peoples Indigenous Centre for Reconciliation Reels, a series of documentaries about treaties and the relationships they represent.

Screenings will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Centre for Collaborative Education, Room 141.
