Ontario Minister Michael Chan to help open DCCC Career Bridging Centre at Durham College

Opening event will celebrate Chinese New Year and new community partner at Oshawa campus

Oshawa, Ont. – As the 2012 Chinese New Year quickly approaches, Michael Chan, Ontario Tourism, Culture and Sport minister, will join Durham College as it officially welcomes the Durham Chinese Canadian Culture Centre (DCCC) Career Bridging Centre to campus.

Acting as a resource on campus to support international students in their career endeavours, the centre will play a key role in the DCCC’s commitment to provide cultural exchange and integration programs; newcomer services; and education and training through community and civic engagement to Chinese Canadians living in Durham Region.

Media are invited to observe the official opening of the centre, which will feature a traditional Chinese lion dance and eye-dotting ceremony in recognition of the year of the dragon followed by refreshments.
