Durham College to unveil Wall of Distinction

56 Alumnus of Distinction Award winners to be honoured in ceremony

OSHAWA, Ont. – As part of the its year-long 40th-anniversary celebrations, the Durham College Alumni Association will pay tribute to a group of outstanding alumni with the unveiling of a Wall of Distinction on Tuesday, October 23. The wall will serve as a permanent display to honour the outstanding men and women who have earned Durham College’s prestigious Alumnus of Distinction Award.

The award is presented annually at convocation and recognizes Durham College graduates who have achieved tremendous success in their careers and made a significant commitment to their communities. Since the award’s inception in 1990, there have been 56 recipients.

The Wall of Distinction ceremony is part of Durham College’s 40th-anniversary celebrations, which are continuing throughout the 2007-2008 academic year and closing with Homecoming Weekend on May 2 to 4. The Alumni Association supports the goals of the college and represents the needs and views of Durham College alumni, a group 42,000 strong.
