Minister of Finance to celebrate grand opening of Durham College's new Student Services building

State-of-the-art building provides comprehensive, one-stop student services

OSHAWA, ONT. – The Honourable Jim Flaherty, minister of Finance, minister Responsible for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and MP (Whitby-Oshawa); Colin Carrie, MP (Oshawa); Joe Dickson, MPP (Ajax-Pickering); and Rick Johnson, MPP (Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock) and parliamentary assistant to minister of Infrastructure will join Durham College president Don Lovisa, other local dignitaries, students and college and community representatives as they celebrate the official grand opening of the college’s new Student Services building on Friday, March 18 at 11:30 a.m.

The building is funded through the Knowledge Infrastructure Program, a joint federal and provincial initiative to support post-secondary institutions across Canada.

Located at the Oshawa campus, the event will showcase one of the most all-encompassing student services buildings in the province including a unique ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tours.

Open to students since January, the Student Services building serves as a vital first point of access for potential applicants, current students and graduates, establishing a familiar resource over the life of an individual’s relationship with the college.

Enter off Simcoe Street North and proceed to Founders 1 or 2 parking lots.
