Congratulations to Nichola Kerr, recipient of the 2012 Continuing Education Scholarship worth $500 in recognition of her academic excellence in the Social Services Worker program.

“When I first decided to return to school, my intention was to take a few general interest courses for personal growth,” said Kerr. “However, with the encouragement and support from Continuing Education faculty and staff, I soon began to realize my potential and decided to pursue a Social Services Worker diploma.”

The flexible course schedule offered in the program allowed Kerr to balance her work, family and studying commitments. She credits the industry experience of her professors with enriching the program and increasing the relevance of the lessons she learned.

Many of my professors work within the field and have enhanced my learning through their experiences,” said Kerr. “I have crossed paths with some truly amazing people, many of whom I am proud to now call my friends. Thank you, Durham College.”
