Accounting – Business student places third in PowerPoint at Microsoft Office Specialist Canadian Championship

Jasper Jones, an Accounting – Business student, made Durham College (DC) proud by finishing third at the 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Canadian Championship.

“I’m glad I had the opportunity to participate; it was a fun experience. I’m proud that I ended up on the podium,” he said.

Students who excel in their MOS exams – which are embedded into a number of DC’s Faculty of Business and Information Technology programs – can compete in the virtual event to showcase their skills and knowledge. Students like Jones have an edge in the job market, with recruiters and prospective employers looking for students who have an aptitude for Microsoft Office.

“At Durham College, students who are willing to put in the effort and try their best will receive substantial support from their professors in the form of resources, connections, or even mentorship,” said Jones.
