Durham College student awarded OOWA scholarship

Durham College (DC) second-year Environmental Technician student Deanna Marshall has been awarded the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association (OOWA) Education Scholarship. A passionate advocate for clean water and conservation, Deanna is inspired by the natural processes that support wastewater treatment. She learned about the scholarship from a DC professor with industry experience and hopes to explore environmental career paths after graduation. Through DC’s Environmental Technician program, she has gained hands-on experience in environmental sampling, monitoring and sustainability that prepares students for real-world work in protecting ecosystems and public health.
