This course teaches students how to use HTML and CSS to create intuitive Web site interfaces and digital assets. Each week covers fundamental concepts and syntax of HTML/5 and CSS/3. Projects will focus on using HTML/5 to effectively structure digital content and CSS/3 to style and position it. Routine testing will occur to ensure valid use of HTML/5 and CSS/3 (based on W3C standards). Industry recognized design and development life cycles and workflows will be followed. Proper website file & folder structure – and the creation of pathways between digital assets - will be taught and strictly monitored. Web publishing will be modelled throughout the semester using FTP software to connect to a web host.
