This foundational business course is intended to give students a practical overview and understanding of the marketing process and the activities of marketers. In sport business, marketing is the key component whereby all activities are designed to generate and facilitate any exchange between your organization and the consumer. The material covered will teach the student the basics of marketing planning and principles which are necessary for any type of successful sports business. The creation of customer value, an analysis of the changing business environment, identification of the customer and an understanding of their decision making, the use of traditional and digital marketing tactics as well as marketing research methods and their linkage to effective marketing strategies will be examined and applied.
