Personal Support Worker Practice Lab

The Health Care learning Centre /Practice Lab is a simulated clinical setting where students acquire the knowledge and proficiency to perform selected psychomotor skills competently. A lead professor and facilitators assist learning through demonstrations, practice, simulation, review and peer critique. Learning activities are designed to facilitate the development of problem-solving and decision making skills. Cooperative learning approaches utilized in the lab provide the student with the opportunity to enhance communication skills while developing effective partnerships within a team. This learning is essential to safe practice in the practicum area.
