The law enforcement & investigations community plays an important role within a diverse Canada. In this seminar-style course learners will explore key equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) concepts, and also recognize the paradox that exists in Canadian society today. While there is an established commitment to EDI in Canada, issues of oppression do exist. Through respectful dialogue and introspection, students will explore several advanced EDI topics, consider different perspectives and ways of thinking, and recognize some of the lived experiences of EDI and oppression in Canada. As the law enforcement professionals of tomorrow, learners will reflect on how to apply the insights gained throughout the course to a career in serving diverse communities.
