Introduction to Dental Materials

This subject is an introduction to dental materials commonly used in the assessment phase of Dental Hygiene. Students will learn to manipulate materials while utilizing knowledge of product safety and understanding the importance of maintaining a safe environment for both clients and employees. Physical and mechanical properties of dental materials and classification of dental materials are reviewed with particular attention to the DH understanding of dental materials from the clinical perspective.
