The use of fluid under pressure to transmit power and control motion are studied in this course. The principles of fluid power are presented to relate the laws of physics to practical hydraulic control systems and applications. The operation of various fluid power components (pumps, valves, actuators and system accessories applications) is covered in depth. The fundamental concepts and basic skills necessary to develop a logical approach to the design and troubleshooting of hydraulic controls systems will be emphasized in this course.
