This foundation course focuses on topics related to the creation and interpretation of engineering drawings using AutoCAD as a drawing tool. The content includes most topics related to the creation of initial sketches, design of models in 2D and 3D, the creation of engineering drawings from the models, such as: detail and assembly views, dimensions, notes, and title block. Additional topics of manufacturing techniques, assembly methods and document control techniques are visited.The intent in this course is that the student will be able to produce a set of engineering drawings using a CAD system that fully documents a design and can be used by the shop or trades people to implement the design.
