This course will focus on computer forensics and the tools used for forensics investigation, data mining, and data recovery. It will cover the examination of recovered data and meta data. It will also look at industry best practices for data collection. The ability to correctly recover data without making changes to the original source is a key component of forensic recovery. Once recovered, these often large amounts of data must be interpreted and presented in a manner that is easily understandable. This course, in conjunction with the Law & Ethics in Forensic Investigations course, teaches learners to properly present materials and evidence.
