This course is a continuation of Child Language Acquisition and Related Disorders I (LING 1100). Topics include the continued language development of school-aged children and into early adulthood, language disorders, literacy development, reading and writing, and programming surrounding learning English as a second language. Students are exposed to a sampling of screening and assessment tools, data collection methods, lesson plans, reports, language intervention approaches, intervention activities, and strategies reflective of various treatment approaches for these clients. The role of the Communicative Disorders Assistant in implementing program recommendations is emphasized.
