Continuing with the integration of theory and practice, this course advances the dental hygiene student's skills and knowledge in the principles of debridement instrumentation, fundamentals of sharpening, and fluoride application. Students are also introduced to assessment collection involving the dental history, extra and intraoral examinations, dentition, periodontal tissues and oral deposits. The students will apply these concepts and principles during practice, evaluation and self reflection in the clinical setting on a dental puck and peers.
