Layout Footings & Foundations

This course covers the fundamental principles of site plan layout, Municipal setbacks, several Zoning Bylaws, basic surveying, the construction and installation of footing forms, block wall, snap tie / poured wall foundations, as well as Insulated Concrete Foundations, including preparation for the required footing inspection before concrete and the backfill inspection requirements, including proper foundation protection and drainage. Learners will become familiar with the Ontario Building Code regarding safe excavation practices. Each learner will be trained to effectively work on their own or in a group environment.
