This exciting course is a continuation in the study of the Gas Technician 2 theory from a practical point of view. This semester the student will carry out practical work in the areas of the safe use of pipe cutting, threading and reaming equipment, accurate measurements as well as different methods of sealing and connecting pipe as per the B149.15 Gas Code. The student will then spend an extensive amount of time discovering the skills needed to understand electricity, sequence of operation, safe use of electrical multi-meter, hand tools and components to wire various electrical projects as well as pressure testing, gas manifold testing and clocking gas meter to observe proper firing rate of gas fired equipment and domestic appliances. The content of this course will follow the Technical Standards and Safety Authority's (TSSA) curriculum for practical applications of the theory learned in Modules 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 19. This course will lead to further study of Natural Gas and Propane systems in Semester 2.
