Specialized Instruction Strategies

Common evidence-based behavioural approaches are applied when teaching individuals with autism new skills. Students explore strategies for teaching social skills, activities of daily living, employment skills, language skills, academic skills, and recreation skills. Topics provide the student with an understanding of the terms used, a description of the teaching techniques, and a basic understanding of the conceptual elements motivating the approaches.
