Greenhouse II

This course will focus on the production of vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers as well as some herbs, edible flowers, ornamentals and designated tropicals specific to controlled environment applications. The production of locally grown species of flowers and seedlings will be introduced. Soils/container growth media and fertilizers will be studied relative to their impact on plant growth and yield. Visits to area commercial greenhouses will enhance the student learning experiences. Also, students will study the specific needs of growing indoor plants for homes, offices or solariums.
