Residential Construction

This course will build on the fundamental knowledge that students have acquired from the first semester. Students will practice framing based on the Ontario Building Code for Residential Construction, with a emphasis on sustainability, green building products, net zero ready and net zero homes. Upon successful completion of this course learners will have a strong comprehension of the building trade and should be comfortable to frame projects on their own from floor joists to roof trusses, including insulating walls and ceilings, installing proper vapor barriers and drywall, including finishing of, installing ceramic floor and wall tile, various other floorings, and install windows & doors by Code.
