Elevating Devices 2

This course aims to introduce skilled trades' students into the elevating device industry. In this course students will learn fundamentals of elevating device prints, escalators and moving walks and fundamentals of lifts for persons with physical disabilities. Students will learn about operating principles and safety considerations of escalators and moving walks, preparing installation/ construction of an escalator and moving walk, construction features of lifts for persons with physical disabilities and testing procedures of lifts for persons with physical disabilities. Students will be able to have hands-on exposure and practical experience on adjusting, testing and installing escalator and moving walks. Finally students will identify relevant information pertaining to information on an elevating device print, identify key aspects of elevating device prints, locate and identify positioning of components and identify typical machine elements associated with elevating devices.
