DC Spa - Lab II

Students will continue to master their skills providing esthetic services from semester 3, and begin delivering skin peels and microdermabrasion treatments in an experiential setting for paying clients at the Durham College Spa. DC Spa Lab II will provide the opportunity for each student Esthetician to enhance skill sets in a holistic manner and gain a better self-awareness of specific areas of specialization to be competitive in industry. Students will perform client consultations to identify client concerns/goals and analyze this information to recommend appropriate treatments and skin care products, utilizing their product knowledge. There will be a strong emphasis placed on adhering to infection control protocols in accordance with public health and safety standards when utilizing equipment and performing esthetic treatments, as well as projecting the level of professionalism expected within the spa industry. Students will use consultative sales, customer care and marketing principles to recommend products, promote spa services and help contribute to retail boutique sales.
