The focus of Health Assessment 2500 is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skill necessary to competently perform a comprehensive health assessment for clients across the life span using physical exam techniques. The student will learn to conduct a health history interview, perform a physical examination and identify common abnormal findings, health promotion techniques and clinical decision making in the context of the role of the nurse. The focus is on the normal adult client experiencing life transitions and health challenges. Learning activities will include on-line lectures, modules and activities, simulation, case studies, group discussion and an opportunity to apply health assessment skills during lab practice.
