Practice Lab II builds on the foundation established in Practice Lab I. The student is provided with opportunities to learn and apply the knowledge and skills necessary to competently perform advanced psychomotor nursing skills as per learning plan. Lab Practice II includes comprehensive online modules to be completed independently and learning activities in the classroom to encourage and facilitate the development of critical thinking and decision-making abilities. The learned psychomotor skills are practiced within the simulated practicum environment of the Interprofessional Simulation Lab. With each new skill set, the student integrates relevant nursing and health related theory, including the knowledge of professional standards. Cooperative learning approaches utilized in the Lab provide the student with opportunity to enhance communication skills, provide and receive constructive feedback, and develop effective partnerships with a group.
