This course advances study beyond the introduction in ‘History of Architecture' (which covered a chronological order from ancients to Post-modernism). This course focuses on Modern Architecture; its origins, and developments. It traces the development of Modern Architecture through changes in building, drawing, and theory; continuing on and including contemporary works being built today. It presents the development of architectural form in the cultural and technological context of the modern era. Students will identify and study key architectural works from early modern to our contemporary period as they contribute to shaping the built environment. They will become familiar with how our profession has developed and continues to develop from the past through the present and into the future.
