Family Work In CYC

This course is an introduction to a Child and Youth Care approach to working with families. Students will learn about working with diverse families primarily focusing on challenges and opportunities. Based on the family systems model and ecological perspective, interactional patterns within families will be explored. They will examine CYC relational practices used to promote positive family functioning. Lastly, students will apply their knowledge to a family assessment and complete a genogram of their own family.
