Workplace Communication Skills

This course is designed for students who will be working in the field of Child and Youth Care. The focus will be on professional communication in the field. The course will include the development of culturally inclusive and professional communication skills as a Child and Youth Care practitioner. Emphasis will be on competent written reports and electronic communication. Students will develop an approach to writing which is based on the writer's purpose, audience and the context of communication. The importance of responsible electronic communication in the Child and Youth Care field will be introduced to the student.
