Explore the fundamental concepts of one of the most important NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods; Ultrasonic Testing (UT). The course starts with the physical principles of ultrasound and wave propagation, then introduces methodology of contact and noncontact testing, and demonstrates main functional characteristics of flaw detectors and transducers. Learn to verify instrument performance and complete calibrations required for inspection. Practice this and begin your journey performing UT inspection during laboratory. In order to receive credit in this course students must achieve a minimum grade of 70%. Course content will meet or exceed the requirements of CAN/CGSB-48.9712-2022 standard for Qualification and Certification of Non-Destructive Testing Personnel for the UT Level 1.
