Hazardous Materials

Students identify hazardous materials, according to The Ontario Fire Code and NFPA 1072 - Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents. Students explore safety measures and recognize potential threats stemming from hazardous materials. Students apply the Ontario Fire Code, Occupational Health and Safety Standard and the Emergency Response Guide to various incidents and potential threats. Students will have the opportunity to obtain certification from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal and Emergency Management, upon successful completion of this course.
