Audio-Visual media is an integral part of our contemporary experience. The global nature of human civilization is all encompassing and even affects how artists express, curate and present their works of art. The internet and the media curated within it, requires a basic knowledge of technological manipulations in order to harness its potential. Artists must understand contemporary technology in order to best triangulate how their art is positioned within the outward journey of their art into society as well as the inward journey of the artistic process. Audio-Visual productions are time-based linear formats that naturally lend themselves to narratives in both form or content. Audio-Visual media can produce rich, textured and dynamic narratives as well as subtle, gentle and lyrical ones, not to mention jagged, staccato, formalist experimental poems of light and sound.
