The core assessment and management skills acquired during year one will be applied to a variety of emergency situations and special populations. The course will cover the appropriate assessment and management of unique situations faced in the prehospital environment such as labour and delivery, neonatal resuscitation and paediatric emergencies. This course builds on the patient care foundation of THEO 1400 and 2400. The ability to provide care for patients in situational circumstances impacts the primary care paramedic on a regular basis. Additionally, the course will stress the importance of interagency cooperation and other related topics.
