Practice Lab III provides the student with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skill necessary to competently perform advanced psychomotor skills. The student learns and practices these skills within the simulated practicum environment of the Health Care Learning Centre. With each skill-set the student integrates relevant nursing and health related theory including the knowledge of professional standards. Learning activities are designed to facilitate the development of critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Cooperative learning approaches utilized in the lab provide the student with the opportunity to enhance communication skills while developing effective partnerships within a group. Practice Lab III builds on the foundation established in Practice Lab I and II.
