This course introduces students to a comprehensive, critical, and forward-looking examination of the evolving field of child and youth care in Canada and globally. Students will be guided through a wide range of sectors and contexts in which Child and Youth Care practitioners are engaged with young people, their families, and their communities. Students will acknowledge and confront complex issues within the Child and Youth Care profession. Additionally, students are provided with the opportunity to analyze and plan interventions for young people and their families in various sectors and contexts utilizing evidence-informed practice. Students are encouraged to utilize this course as an opportunity to explore various career paths established in various Child and Youth Care sectors and contexts.
