Mobile Reporting

This course examines the changing nature of media and how smartphones and tablets are allowing broadcasters to work anywhere in the world with minimum equipment and maximum reach. Students will explore the tools and techniques employed by mobile journalists, as well as the power and pitfalls of citizen journalism and social media. Students will demonstrate their mastery of the course material by creating multimedia content for the Downtown Oshawa News blog.
