This course focuses on the rights of the parties under a standard construction contract in relation to legal obligations. The course includes a practical application and examination of clauses related to instructions, changes, progress payments, holdbacks, and completion certificates. Leadership skills and negotiation techniques are also reviewed and applied in a practical context including the completion of RFPs and RFQs. Utilization of construction administration documents, systems, and procedures to meet project requirements are also be explored. The course will also look at CCDC, general conditions of a contract, supplemental general conditions, information for tenderers, order of precedence, substantial performance, and release of funds.
