Biochemistry II

Students explore concepts and methods of biochemistry related to carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and metabolic pathways. An emphasis is placed on the chemistry, classification, and roles of carbohydrates, the chemistry and roles of lipids, the structures and roles of nucleic acids, and gene expression. Students explain biochemical concepts. Students also employ biochemical methodologies to purify, measure, and analyze biological compounds, and use biochemical methodologies to investigate aerobic and anaerobic metabolism.
