Professional Practice for OTA/PTA

In preparation for professional practice, students integrate academic and practicum experiences and reflect on professional behaviours and ethics expected in the competent OTA & PTA. Students review and apply professional standards at a more advanced application level. Students prepare resumes and cover-letters for targeted applications and complete a practical mock interview with self, peer and instructor feedback. Students engage in interprofessional communication and professional advocacy within the role of the OTA & PTA. OTA & PTA competency profiles are reviewed through self-reflection and the completion of a capstone professional portfolio with evidence submitted for each competency area.
