Communication & Function

The purpose of this course is to examine communication theory and best practices. The course will focus on best practices for clients with neurological, developmental and sensory impairments that impact a person's ability to communicate verbally with others. The focus is to teach students practical methods and strategies of therapeutic communication within the role of the therapy assistant. Students will also explore therapeutic skills used to assist clients with swallowing and communication impairments.
