FastStartDC’s SHIFT program stream is designed to help Durham College students who are looking to launch social enterprises that have positive impact on environmental, social or economic issues affecting communities.

While our student entrepreneurs access expert support from FastStart to developtheir social enterprise, they will have the chance to pitch their idea to EnactusDC to launch theirsocial project as a part of Global Enactus initiatives. EnactusDC helps SHIFT businesses furthertheir community impact while FastStart helps our students build sustainable business models.'

Founder’s Drive is a student-produced global podcast that aims to inspire entrepreneurially-minded young people to explore starting and owning their own businesses.In doing so, helping to create a climate of inclusivity, honesty, trust, and accessibility.

One People

Project One People has stitched together a branded clothing social enterprise for our partner theBackdoor Mission. The Mission is an integrated service hub in downtown Oshawa for those experiencing chronic homelessness, mental wellness challenges and addictions. Through various business pillars, project One People will empower members of the Mission community to create products, sell branded clothing and raise awareness for the Mission. A solution developed collaboratively with the community members it serves and keeping their values at its core.
