Explore careers in law enforcement and public safety The Faculty of Social and Community Services Law Enforcement Career Fair connects Durham College students and recent graduates with employers and recruiters from across the law enforcement and public safety sector. This in-person event is designed to support career exploration, professional networking and pathways into meaningful employment in justice- and community-focused fields. Whether you are preparing to enter the workforce or planning your next step, the career fair offers direct access to organizations hiring for future talent. Date: Monday, March 9, 2026 Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, Oshawa campus Address: 2000 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, Ontario What you will experience At the career fair, students and graduates will have the opportunity to: Connect with recruiters and representatives from municipal, provincial and federal law enforcement agencies, corrections services, border services, private security firms and community safety organizations Learn about career pathways, hiring requirements and recruitment timelines in law enforcement and public safety Ask questions about qualifications, training expectations and next steps after graduation Build professional connections that can support co-ops, field placements, internships and full-time employment The event is designed to help you better understand how your Durham College education translates into real-world careers that protect communities and support public safety. Who should attend This event is open to: Current students in justice, protection and community-focused programs within the Faculty of Social and Community Services Recent graduates exploring entry-level opportunities or long-term career pathways in law enforcement and public safety Anyone interested in learning more about careers in policing, corrections, investigations and related fields Prepare for the career fair To make the most of your experience: Bring several copies of your résumé Research participating organizations in advance Prepare questions about career pathways and hiring processes Dress in professional attire Students are encouraged to connect with Durham College’s Career Development team ahead of the event for résumé reviews, interview preparation and career coaching. Employer participation The Law Enforcement Career Fair also provides employers with an opportunity to engage directly with Durham College students and graduates who are preparing for careers in the sector. Employer participation includes: Space for up to four representatives per organization Opportunities to promote career pathways, recruitment programs and upcoming hiring opportunities Direct engagement with students seeking placements, co-ops and employment A registration fee applies for employer participation and the deadline to register is February 27. Parking, light refreshments and lunch are included. Registration Student and graduate registration is free and required to attend.
