Let us help you with your next steps and take a closer look at what your future at Durham College (DC) could be. Program Information Nights are a great place to start. On Tuesday, January 20, at the Oshawa campus and Wednesday, January 21, at the Whitby campus, DC will welcome prospective students, applicants, and their families for an evening designed to inform, connect, and inspire.
Here is what you can expect during your visit.
Step 1: Get settled and connect with faculty
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by DC’s team in green and invited to discover what the event has to offer at your own pace. Throughout the evening, you can meet faculty members and representatives who are available to answer your questions about programs and the career opportunities available after graduation.
Whether you’re exploring your options or are already focused on a specific path, you can speak directly with the people who teach and support students across Durham College.
“Program Information Nights are all about conversations,” says Traci Ellis, Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment. “It’s an opportunity to ask questions, explore options and feel supported as you start thinking about your future education and career.”
Step 2: Discover the services that will support your success
Student success is central to the DC experience. During Program Information Nights, you can learn about the services and resources designed to help you thrive throughout your studies. Representatives will be available to answer questions and share how these supports can help you succeed academically and personally, including:
- Access and Support Centre
- Admission Services
- Sport and Recreation Services
- Campus Health and Wellness Centre
- Financial Aid and Awards
- Student Academic Learning Services
- And many more!
Step 3: Explore the spaces where you will learn
Next, you can join a guided campus tour to see DC’s learning environments firsthand. Tours highlight key spaces such as our classrooms, simulation labs, studios, shops, and more. Seeing these facilities in person will help you imagine yourself learning and building a future at DC.
Step 4: Apply with on-site support and no application fee
If you are ready to apply, DC will cover the $150 application fee for attendees who apply to a DC program during the event. Members of the Start at DC team will help guide you through the application process, answer questions and help you choose the right program. Whether you are confident in your choice or still deciding, support is available every step of the way.
Step 5: Take the next step with confidence
Take some time to explore at your own pace. Visit the Campus Store and enjoy a special 15 per cent discount on DC clothing and swag, reconnect with faculty or student recruitment representatives and ask questions about programs, supports or the application process. Our goal is for you to leave feeling informed, confident and excited about what comes next.
We look forward to seeing you there! For event details and to register, please visit Program Information Nights.
