It allows them to balance their educational goals with their personal and professional responsibilities. Recognizing the needs of these part-time learners, Durham College offers exceptional part-time programs, micro-credentials, and professional development courses with DC Professional and Part-Time Learning (DC PPL). PPL offers  the ability to register easily, directly online through our website and provides different course delivery options including both online and in person.

At DC PPL, you can find various part-time programs that cater to different credential preferences. You have the flexibility to choose from a variety of credentials including; Graduate Certificates, Diplomas, College Certificates, Recognitions of Achievement, and Micro-credentials. With PPL, everything you need to start your personal and professional growth journey is available.

 If you’re unsure about which credential will help you achieve your educational goals, you can choose from a variety of programs and courses based on your interests. These include Arts and Design, Business, Education, Health and Community Services, Information Technology, Languages, Legal and Emergency Services, Personal Interest, Trades, and Technology.

 As a PPL student, you have the unique advantage of being able to register and pay for only one course at a time and enroll when it fits within your schedule. We understand the importance of flexibility and want to give our students the freedom to register for courses at their own pace.

For instance, if you’re interested in pursuing the Accounting Specialty (Certificate), which comprises seven courses, you can sign up for one course at a time and schedule it accordingly. You’ll have a total of 15 semesters (equivalent to 5 years) from the start of your first course to complete the certificate program.

How to Register for a PPL Course

Step one: Find the right program

• Search the program options available through PPL
• Once you found your program download the Program of Study and follow the recommended course sequence

Step two: Find your course

• Search course listings for course code(s) or go to the bottom of the program page to see a list of courses.
• Add the desired course(s) to the shopping cart.
• Click on the check-out

Step three: Login to our system and validate your personal information

Step four: Confirm purchase and submit payment

• Review the contents of your shopping cart to confirm its accuracy.
• Enter your credit card information.
• Submit payment (Acceptable payment options online include American Express, Visa and MasterCard.

Step five: Save your receipt

• You will receive an email confirmation of your selected course(s) to the e-mail address you provided. Please check your spam/junk folder if it does not appear in your inbox.
