Understanding Unhealthy Relationships and Sexual Violence
– “Let’s create a safer environment where consent is valued, survivors are supported, and everyone plays a role in preventing sexual violence.”

This interactive and informative workshop is designed to empower you in recognizing and addressing sexual violence. This workshop provides you with essential knowledge to better be able to recognize unhealthy relationships and respond effectively to disclosures of sexual violence. Led by the Sexual Violence Education and Prevention Coordinator from the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, participants will explore critical topics related to healthy relationships, abuse and violence, rape culture, consent, and supporting survivors. You will be informed about the college’s Sexual Violence Policy that guides the appropriate handling of sexual violence complaints and disclosures, and the ways that together we can uphold the policies commitments and promote a culture of consent.

Learning Objectives:

• Able to recognize unhealthy relationships and or abuse
• Understand their role and responsibilities as a DC Campus community member concerning Sexual Violence prevention and support.
• Build confidence in responding to disclosures of Sexual Violence
• Foster and promote Consent Culture on Campus
