Please join co-hosts Dr. Elaine Popp and Lon Appleby for a special alumni event as we discuss supply chain challenges during the pandemic. DC graduates from the Business Administration-Supply Chain and Operations Management program, Jessica Beaudry, Cameron Munro, Thien Nguyen and Jennifer Stevenson will discuss their work and career path that has led them to live and work around the world. Speakers:

Cameron Munro

’12 Business Administration- Operations Management grad, Cameron is an accomplished business owner and Director of Operations on an international stage. His work includes organization optimization and new business development in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, E-Commerce and Packaging industries. Cameron can speak to problem solving through national and international supply chain challenges. With vendors, customers and teams operating around the globe he has had to make pivotal changes to the way supply and information is transferred to curb the disruption in a rapidly changing world.

Jessica Beaudry
‘15 Business Administration- Operations Management grad. Jessica completed an 18-month internship with Celestica and continued working with them in her final year of studies accepting a full-time position upon graduation. She spent five years with Celestica, each year taking on added responsibilities and expanding her portfolio. In 2018, she moved to Alberta where she joined the Stuart Olson team – an industrial contractor company located in Northern Alberta. Near the end of 2020, she moved back to Ontario and joined St. Marys Cement located in Bowmanville. As a result of the pandemic, she was on boarded and trained from the comfort of her home.
Jessica began part-time studies with Athabasca University in 2018 and will graduate in 2022 with a Bachelor of Commerce. She enjoys staying connected with Durham College, participating in the Alumni Mentoring Program and building her network through events hosted by the College.

 

Jennifer Stevenson
Jennifer is currently the Global IS Process Manager for Purchasing and Supply Chain Departments at Safran Landing Systems located at the headquarters in Paris, France. The majority of her duties belong to being the interlocutor between the business and IT department. She is responsible for 11 manufacturing sites across 6 countries. Jennifer is also the Project Manager of implementing a new supply chain management collaboration platform called “AirSupply” across the 11 sites and their suppliers.
She graduated from Computer Network Engineering in 2011 and from Business Administration – Operations Management at Durham College in 2014. Jennifer completed her work placement as Master Production Scheduler at the Ajax site then was hired as Purchasing Analyst and SAP Focal.

 

Thien Nguyen
In 2015, Thien came to Canada from Vietnam and attended Durham College as an international student. He graduated 3 years later with an advanced diploma in Business Administration- Materials and Operations Management. Shortly after graduation, he started working as a Supply Chain Analyst for Vexos, an electronic contract manufacturer. Working for Vexos, Thien has had the opportunity to learn about how things work in the manufacturing world and, in particular, electronics.
He works with other functional teams such as program management, purchasing, quote, warehouse and finance to complete projects and support the production team. In addition, he maintains and generates reports to support management’s decision making. Thien also has the opportunity to work with fellow teammates in China & US as the company has global presence in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong and the United States.
