Indigenization Council

The Indigenization Council is an internal committee created to advise and assist in the development and implementation of strategies for the advancement and improvement of Indigenous education at Durham College. This council is informed by recommendations from the Indigenous Advisory Circle, and follows guidelines outlined in the Indigenous Education Protocol for Colleges and Institutes, and the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

To further the development of Indigenization efforts, the Indigenization Council also employs five working groups including: Curriculum Development; Student Recruitment; Communications; Employee Recruitment, Onboarding and Professional Development; and Events.
